Hello Parents, This week in... Math - We continued our measurements unit, we learned about word problems, conversion between imperial units, and made shapes to learn about perimeter. Writing - For this week, we wrote in our duck diaries. Gym - This week, we played football type games such as Eraser Football and Bean Bag Football. Furthermore, we also learned how to throw a football, we focused on having a really nice spiral. Also, we learned a new tag game; Insect Tag. Science - We started our animal life cycles unit. We got a unit booklet and learned about different classifications of animals such as mammals, insects, fish, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. This week, we got ducklings, and they hatched! Everyone got a chance to hold and pet the ducklings. This week in... Literacy - we continued working on inferring through texts with only pictures or with limited words. We have also started writing our fractured fairy tales. These are fairy tales that are changed from the traditional ones. Math - we have started our measurement unit. We have been doing a lot of work with our rulers as well as some simple conversion work. Social Studies - we are still on the topic of Ukraine. Students are in the midst of creating a poster showing all they learned about Ukraine. Reminders 1. Sorry for not posting on Friday this week. There will be no pictures this week because we started many things but no final products. Which means this coming week's blog will be loaded; so be on the look out for that! Math - We started graphing. We talked, analyzed, and created some bar graphs as well as some line plots. We will be continuing this next week as well. English - We have officially finished our personal walking stories (stories that are about our favourite...). We have begun to write about our event stories. Event stories are stories that take place within a day's time, are real, featuring you, and has no problems. We talked about how to plan for an event story and did a few examples as a class. The class also learned about transition words and how they help our stories move along.
